WMF Vulnerability Checker tool from IDA guru out

A new Windows Metafile Vulnerability Checker tool has been released on Sunday.

This little utility of four kilobytes simply reports if there is a vulnerable component in the system. If the result is positive, it recommends downloading an unofficial hotfix from the same author.

The author, Mr. Ilfak Guilfanov is one of the main developers of Interactive Disassembler Pro debugging system.

The tool is located here: www.hexblog.com/security....wmf_checker.exe

Information about the Ilfak's hotfix is available here.
Finnish-language news in MikroPC magazine is located here.

Update 4-Jan-06: Hexblog.com seems to be currently down. Please use an alternative SANS Institute download mirror:

Update 2: Hexblog is alive again.
